Treadmill
Maintenance Tips
Routine
maintenance should include cleaning and inspecting the
display and the walking belt for wear. Avoid using
any cleaning solvents on any part of the treadmill
as this can damage paint, lubrication, or other sensitive
parts.
The area between the walking belt and the deck underneath
should be wiped with a dry cloth periodically. DO
NOT USE ANY CLEANER WHEN WIPING UNDER THE BELT,
as this can damage the lubrication of the belt and deck.
The walking belt and electronic display should be cleaned
and dried daily to corrosive materials. Products like
Simple Green diluted with water, or even a light soapy
water solution will do the job. ALWAYS wipe down
with a dry cloth afterwards.
To
clean inside the treadmill, unplug it first. Inspect
the power cord for any damage along its length, where
it enters the treadmill housing, and the plug prongs.
Then remove the bolts, screws, or clips holding on the
hood cover. It is good to vacuum inside the motor compartment
but care must be taken to avoid damaging any electronics,
sensors, or potentially unplug internal wires. Also
vacuum around machine.
A
monthly inspection should be performed checking the
walking belt for wear or tearing, and the deck for grooves
or exposed, unlubricated wood.
The
elevation assembly should also be inspected periodically
by elevating the machine normally and should be lubricated
using an appropriate type of grease. For any belt
and deck lubrication questions or issues, please contact
the Body Works Fitness service department at 888-285-0700
to consult about whether this is necessary or appropriate.
